Dr Lau received his BA degree in Journalism from the National Chengchi University and obtained his MSc and PhD degrees in Management from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Before he joined The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, he was a Senior Lecturer of the Department of Management and an Associate Director of the Integrated BBA Programme of the Faculty of Business Administration at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His papers have been published in such refereed journals as Journal of International Business Studies, Family Business Review, and Journal of Business Ethics, etc., and also presented at such academic conferences as Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, and Asia Academy of Management, etc. He has authored several trade books, including The Essence of Management, The Essence of Business, and The Essence of Strategy. He has taught in universities for more than 10 years, and has been granted teaching awards for seven consecutive years in CUHK and HSUHK. He has been responsible for a variety of courses in teaching and curriculum development, such as Principles of Management, Organizational Behavior, and Organizational Development, etc.
